| lakersmp4, did manufacturer mention that if the firmware is upgraded, it will add these functions such as "record", "snes capability" to your mp4 player once you upgrade the firmware? |

I'm having the same problem. I cannot get the USB drivers to install, because Windows XP auto-installs the drivers as "mass storage" devices. I have tried on two seperate pc and both do not show the "new hardware found" screen to install my drivers. I have a disc that came with the mp4 player, but cannot get the firmware installed because of this usb driver issue.
If anyone can please guide on how to get the USB drivers installed ... or force windows to look for new device when I plug in the MP4 player... please let us know.
Thank you.. |

@neochick2000, to disable automatic driver install in Windows XP, you will have to modify the Windows registry. I would suggest you only try this if you know how to edit the windows registry......and make sure you backup the registry before trying anything.
Here it is:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoDevMgrUpdate"=dword:00000001
That should disable the automatic installation of drivers and allow you to install your driver manually. |
