Your firmware appears to be hacked to show an incorrect memory value (to make it sound better than it is) as a result you have been trying to fill it. as you approach the ACTUAL storage capacity it will work fine. But once you reach the "true" capacity the mp4 player, it will still let you try to fill up to the "fake" capacity. Unfortunately, when trying to do so, the whole system goes a little haywire and the file allocation table does not know what to do with it all. You end up with file which have no place to go so they get messed up and you can no longer do anything with them.

I had a DISK ERROR showing on my MP4 player's screen too. I resolved the problem by using the MP3 Utilities Tool that is on the CD included in the MP4 player's package. The tool allows you to format the space reserved to your MP3 files. It will not delete any of the programs installed on it.

Ok, you have a hacked mp4 player and you know that the true capacity is less than what the seller claimed it was, but you want to correct any disk errors or corrupt files you may have on your mp4 player.

Take the following steps below:

1. In Windows, click on Start, then click Run and type CMD in the dialog box.

2. Type chkdsk /r then put the drive name or letter after at the DOS prompt.

3. System will ask whether to convert lost chains into files, type Y for yes. The system will now begin scanning your MP4 player.

4. Goto the Control Panel, then select the folder option(Select option to allow hidden and system files to be shown. Also select 'show operating sytem file' too).

5. Delete any files or folders labelled 'Foundxx' on your MP4 player.

6. All done. Corrupted files should now be deleted off your MP4 player.

kath0520, the music started skipping all of a sudden? or did you do something to the mp4 player and then you noticed that this problem started happening when you add songs to the mp4 player?
