Hello,

my MP4 player (which was only a few weeks old) won't start up anymore.
The power switches on, but the player won't get past this screen:

http://lh4.ggpht.com/_LTaAb87dwbA/S-GHU2dLCdI/AAAAAAAABk4/Zn8mddLpIIc/s800/SN856808.JPG

It's a 2,8 Inch Touchscreen with 4 GB.

Also i have to mention, that the player is no longer being recognized by my computer.

Does anyone have a clue what is going on, or better how to fix it??

A great thank you in advance,

kmicho

Ok, so your MP4 Player is stuck on the "Please Wait..." prompt. Here are a few things you should do:

1. There should be a small pinhole somewhere on your mp4 player, look for that and use a small paper clip and push in for 2 or 3 secs.

2. If you can't find a pinhole, try removing the battery, wait 20 seconds, then reinsert the battery again.

3. If none of the above work, then my next question is do you have warranty that is still good? If so, have the mp4 player replaced/exchanged with another one by the seller or merchant.

Hello MP4Guru,

i had already tried the reset button, but with no avail.
I just now tried your other suggestion, about disconnecting the battery. But still the same thing.

Since the player is still powered and abviously working, might there be any way of making the computer recognize it, so that i could install an new firmware and thus kind a hard-reset the thing.

Being recognized by the computer is the key in repairing the thing, i think...

Any more suggestions are welcome.

P.s. i contacted the seller already; he said he had send me a new one, which i never received. The seller refuses to send another one... so i've kinda given up on that...
